Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

#mytraveldiary

Rocky Mountain National Park is an ode to the high country. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted with towering peaks and a palpable sense of thin, crisp air. The crown jewel is the drive along Trail Ridge Road, which takes you well above the treeline into the alpine tundra. The views from up there are simply staggering, with jagged peaks and glacial valleys stretching out in every direction. Keep an eye out for elk and bighorn sheep—they're often found grazing in the meadows. My favorite part was hiking around the Bear Lake area. The chain of interconnected lakes—Nymph, Dream, and Emerald—makes for a classic, stunning day hike. The park feels wild and rugged, a true taste of the American West.
