Ancient Times Encountered in Rome – A Travel Review of Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Temple of Vesta

Rome, Italy exceeded all expectations. The entire city felt like a museum, and walking through it was like stepping into the shoes of an ancient Roman. Among the many sights, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Temple of Vesta left the most profound impressions during this trip.

First, **Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi)** was more magnificent than I had imagined. While it’s stunning during the day, its illuminated view at night is truly enchanting. There’s a saying that tossing a coin into the fountain ensures your return to Rome, and I quietly made a wish as I threw my coin. Though the area is always bustling, the excitement and anticipation among the crowd add to the unique atmosphere of this place.

**Colosseum (Colosseo)** had an awe-inspiring grandeur that photos simply cannot capture. Standing before the massive amphitheater is overwhelming, and walking through its interior evokes a strange thrill as you imagine the cheers of gladiators and citizens from 2,000 years ago. Listening to the audio guide while exploring allows you to marvel at the culture and architectural ingenuity of that era.

**Temple of Vesta (Tempio di Vesta)**, located within the Roman Forum (Forum Romanum), is one of the lesser-known sites but an incredibly special one. It’s where the Vestal Virgins kept the sacred flame, and the temple’s circular structure and simplicity are striking. Strolling through the surrounding ruins offers a glimpse into the daily life and faith of ancient Rome, making it a highly recommended spot.

Traveling in Italy wasn’t just sightseeing—it was a journey through time. Experiencing history not through books but in real spaces is the city’s greatest charm. Even the fatigue from walking transforms into awe in Rome, making it one of my lifetime travel destinations.
