Hello! Today, I’d like to share my experience in Rome, the city where I spent the longest time during my trip to Italy. As the saying goes, “All roads lead to Rome,” and indeed, Rome is a city where the past and present coexist harmoniously. Every alley is alive with ancient ruins, yet the city also exudes a modern charm, making it truly captivating. ✨
🏟️ 1. Colosseum (Colosseo)
My journey in Rome began with the Colosseum. Seeing this grand ancient amphitheater in person was absolutely overwhelming. Imagining the gladiatorial battles that took place here made the 2,000-year-old history come alive before my eyes.
TIP: Book your tickets online in advance to avoid long queues!
⛲ 2. Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi)
Famous from the movie *Roman Holiday*, the Trevi Fountain was a must-visit for me. I tossed a coin into the fountain and made a wish. 💫 Despite the constant crowd of tourists, the harmony of the white marble sculptures and the clear water was breathtaking. The fountain is especially magical at night when it’s illuminated.
🏛️ 3. Vatican City (Vaticano)
A trip to Rome wouldn’t be complete without visiting the world’s smallest country, Vatican City.
• St. Peter’s Basilica (San Pietro Basilica): The grand dome and the intricate interior decorations were awe-inspiring!
• Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina): Seeing Michelangelo’s ceiling fresco *The Creation of Adam* in person was a moment that took my breath away.
This space, where world-class art and faith converge, left a profound impression on me. 🙏
🏛️ 4. Rome’s Piazzas
Rome’s piazzas (squares) were truly memorable.
• Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps): Perfect for sitting on the steps, enjoying gelato, and people-watching! 🍦
• Piazza Navona: Filled with fountains and street performances, it was a lively spot to soak in the Roman atmosphere.
🍝 5. Culinary Delights in Rome
The food in Rome was exceptional.
• Creamy Carbonara 🍝
• Thin and crispy Roman-style pizza 🍕
• Refreshing gelato 🍨
Even the small eateries scattered throughout the city offered high-quality meals, making dining a delightful experience.
🌅 6. The Charm of Strolling in Rome
The true charm of Rome lies not only in its famous landmarks but also in the simple act of strolling through its streets. Hidden cafes between old buildings, street musicians, and walks along the Tiber River at sunset… every moment felt like a painting.
📌 Travel Tips
