Guizhou Dali Dong Village, an isolated secret place in southeastern Guizhou

Guizhou Rongjiang County has two treasures
One is the village super
The other is Dali Dong Village

On the way to drive to Dali Dong Village, I was both surprised and disappointed. The surprise was that a wide asphalt road was directly built to the village entrance parking lot. The disappointment was that it was probably only a commercialized scenic spot that would spend money on road construction. Most of the villages in Guizhou are likely to have rugged mountain roads, but the fact proved that Dali Dong Village is an exception. Not only is the road good, but it is also free.

🏡 About Dali Dong Village
This is a primitive Dong village with just over 300 households, living a life where paths crisscross and chickens and dogs are heard. The well-arranged Dong stilted buildings have stood for hundreds of years (a national key cultural relic protection group), the ancient stone road from the Qianlong period, five historical flower bridges, a thousand-year-old banyan tree + a pure wooden drum tower (the village's CBD).

✅ The handmade textiles of the Dong grandmothers, made purely by hand stitch by stitch
✅ The viewing platform at the highest point in the village, overlooking the entire village
✅ The rice field's fish, as seen in 'A Bite of China'
✅ The Dong girls' grand song in the drum tower, an a cappella heavenly sound
✅ The Dong opera at the village entrance stage, with lusheng dance + niutuiqin + stepping song hall
