Japanese people have a strong sense of ritual, making Christmas in Japan especially beautiful. Various Christmas lights and markets keep the festive atmosphere lively both day and night. On this trip to Tokyo, we visited four illuminated spots to experience the joy of Christmas!
✓ Roppongi - Christmas Lights
Roppongi Hills, Roppongi Midtown, and Keyakizaka Street are adorned with 800,000 blue and white lights from December, transforming the entire street into a dazzling galaxy with Tokyo Tower as the backdrop. It's one of the most popular photo spots in Tokyo during winter!
✓ Tokyo Tower
During Christmas, Tokyo Tower's usual red and white colors turn into a vibrant display of multiple colors, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere! The best place to view this is from the lawn of Shiba Park, where you can capture the entire Christmas edition of Tokyo Tower in one shot. It's stunning!
✓ Skytree
Not to be outdone by Tokyo Tower, Skytree also lights up with colorful lights that change with the rhythm. In addition to the Christmas tree-shaped lights in the shopping mall, Skytree itself becomes a spectacular light show!
✓ Azabudai Hills
The fashionable Azabudai Hills joins the Christmas lighting trend with butterfly-shaped lights, making the area look very fancy! There's also a Christmas market in the plaza, offering various festive foods and snacks, creating a European Christmas atmosphere!
