On the weekend, I wandered to Ruili, intending to stroll casually, but unexpectedly stumbled upon a hidden gem of a hotel—the Jingcheng Dihai Hot Spring Resort Center.
The airport shuttle from Mangshi Airport goes directly there. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was amazed by the lush tropical plants, as if a rainforest had been brought into the courtyard. Even more stunning is the 80-acre man-made lake, blue like a giant sapphire. Although located in the city, it instantly feels like a secluded secret place, and my pace naturally slowed down.
The rooms were even more surprising. Pulling back the curtains, the view of Peacock Lake came right into sight. You can even catch the golden roof of the Zongfo Temple shining in the sunset. Any photo taken with a phone instantly has a cinematic atmosphere.
As for breakfast here, it truly lives up to a five-star hotel standard. There are all kinds of fruits, drinks, Chinese and Western dishes, plus special Burmese milk tea, tofu pudding, Mimeng flower dyed rice, Ruili rice noodles, and thin bean powder... it’s hard to choose!
Of course, coming to a hot spring hotel means you have to soak in the springs. There are 22 functional pools, each with unique features—herbal baths, floral baths, and more to experience in rotation. The fatigue from wandering around during the day melts away as you soak. The warm spring water wraps around your body, relaxing you completely, and even time seems to slow down.
Accommodation, hot springs, and beautiful scenery all in one place. If you come to Ruili, why not experience a laid-back vacation here and enjoy the comfort of this border town?
