This is Mizuki Shigeru Road, a place created to commemorate Mizuki Shigeru, the creator of the Japanese national yokai manga, “GeGeGe no Kitaro,” and is also called Yokai Village.
If you know even a little about the GeGeGe no Kitaro manga, you can enjoy it more, and even if you don’t, you can enjoy it just for the concept of a gloomy Yokai Village.
Let me give you a brief explanation about the work called GeGeGe no Kitaro. It is a manga serialized by Mizuki Shigeru, who lost his arm after the war and became an anti-war writer, starting in the 1960s. The animation also came out in the 1960s, and it has been remade in many versions to this day. It has inspired many yokai-related contents in Japan, and the creator passed away in 2015.
The animation feels like it is aimed at children, but the theatrical animation called “Kitaro no Birth” that was released in Korea in 2024 is rated R for adults, and I personally enjoyed it very much. It is an animation that I would recommend to Koreans as well. It's okay to approach this as your first work, and you can also get a general idea of the world.
