Hase-dera Temple, the head temple of the Hase sect, is about a 15-20 minute walk from Kintetsu Osaka Line's Hasedera Station. From the entrance, you ascend a sloping path and a long staircase corridor to reach the main hall. As its nickname "Temple of Flowers" suggests, the cherry blossom season here is truly breathtaking. The peony season is also said to be spectacular, and I would love to visit during that time as well.
I have also visited during the autumn foliage and New Year's, and this temple offers a wonderful opportunity to experience nature in every season. To be honest, it’s not the most convenient to reach from Nara city by train, and the access from the station isn’t great either, but it’s absolutely worth the trip.
The staircase corridor is quite long, so I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. There are various types of cherry blossoms here, including weeping cherry trees and mountain cherry trees.
