Cider, Stories, and Shadows

This year’s Ghostly Garden Nights event was one of my favorites. We sat near the culinary garden, sipping warm cider as a local storyteller spun eerie Texas folktales. Behind him, shadows from the trees stretched and shifted in the firelight. It felt like something from centuries ago — simple storytelling in a beautiful place. The garden at night has a heartbeat: frogs, leaves, and the distant sound of laughter. When the wind picked up, the candles flickered, and for a moment, the stories felt all too real.
