Taining Dajin Lake Boat Tour Guide|Discover Ancient Architecture Hidden in the Cliffs⭐️
Itinerary
Arrive at the distribution center ➡️ Purchase/exchange tickets (receive tickets with boat number) ➡️ Queue for ticket inspection and board the boat ➡️ Remember your boat number and gathering time ➡️ Visit three scenic spots with the boat ➡️ Return to the dock.
The entire Dajin Lake boat tour includes three fixed stops:
Stop 1: Wild Fun Source → Water Red Cliffs
⏰ Tour duration: About 40-60 minutes
➡️ Water Red Cliffs/One-Line Sky: This is the highlight of Dajin Lake. You will walk along the plank path on the cliff, and the most thrilling part is passing through the "One-Line Sky." This "One-Line Sky" is a slanted gap, extremely narrow, with the narrowest part allowing only one person to pass sideways. It might be challenging for those with a larger build. Here, you can admire the stunning scenery of Danxia landforms reflected in the lake, with massive red cliffs appearing as if split by an axe—truly breathtaking.
➡️ Stop 2: Ganlu Rock Temple
⏰ Tour duration: About 40-60 minutes
This is a unique temple built during the Southern Song Dynasty, characterized by its "One Pillar Grounded, No Tiles Needed" design.
"One Pillar Grounded": The entire weight of the temple is supported by a single thick pillar called the "Ruyi Pillar." Be sure to give it a hug!
"No Tiles Needed": The temple is nestled within a natural cave, with a rocky ceiling, eliminating the need for tiles. The temple integrates Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, making it a must-see.
➡️ Stop 3: Slanted Sky
⏰ Tour duration: About 30-50 minutes
This is another "One-Line Sky" formation, but different from the first stop. It was formed by rock fractures and tilting, featuring a longer and deeper passage. The interior is dimly lit, requiring climbing with both hands and feet. Visiting this spot demands some physical effort, and the passage is damp and dark, so it’s recommended to use your phone flashlight🔦 for illumination to avoid tripping.
💕 Practical Tips and Notes
1️⃣ Best visiting time:
Spring (April-May) and Autumn (September-November): Comfortable weather with picturesque scenery.
2️⃣ Preparation:
🌈 Wear comfortable, non-slip flat shoes! The tour involves a lot of walking on mountain paths, stairs, and through narrow rock crevices.
🌈 Bring water and some light snacks🍰 for energy.
🌈 Sun protection: The UV rays on the lake are strong, so protect yourself while sightseeing on the deck (hat🧢, sunscreen).
🌈 Rain gear: Mountain weather is unpredictable, so carry a lightweight umbrella🌂 or raincoat just in case.
