Amazing family experience

Club Med Sanya has been an amazing experience. There are so many activities and events at all times of day that it is hard to get bored.

Initially there were a few issues with our room due to low maintenance levels (our tap water didn’t work, our shower carpet was smelly, and the room floor and entrance table counter wasn’t cleaned properly so there were dark blobs on the floor), yet after we started seeing the hotel manager more, the whole atmosphere of the place changed… staff were a lot more friendly, restaurant manager started smiling (she initially shouted at my son for coming in to the restaurant with wet clothes, yet she did apologize after I spoke to her after my friends told me they saw the whole thing) and the place was cleaner too.

The buffet options at lunch and dinner are pretty amazing (we didn’t make it to breakfast as it closes early but my friend told me it wasn’t great).

The staff are very friendly and offer so many activities geared towards families. Deer, the beach bar is super family friendly and a great place to gather every night. it closes at midnight and there is dance music and some aerobics classes at night. It would be nice if on Fridays there was more dancing time, we were disappointed to try on my bday this week (which was in a Friday) as we were told there was a dancing party but it was just aerobics with not such a good music selection.

Betty at the beach bar makes the BEST drinks and Viviana in the front desk will help you communicate with the nurse if you need any medicine or check ups.

Strangely during our stay many people got an ear ache and infection, Viviana helped us get a quick and inexpensive ear drop/antibiotic which helped a few friends.

Our room’s air conditioning never worked even though they came to repair it and did not upgrade our room despite the trouble we had sleeping some nights as it was so hot.

The trapeze was a definite highlight, and so was the baby beach pool with white sand. The water sports are cool but they shut super early at 5pm and last sign up is 4:30pm. There is only 1 water sport daily (wish there was a choice). Jet ski is extra charge and not run by Club Med. The staff member didn’t help us book it and they just said go and find out ourselves so we never did it as we didn’t find out how to do it.

You can swim in this beach which was lovely as we could not swim in Haitong Bay or Luhuitoi where we stayed at in 3 hotels previously.

Overall an amazing experience for kids and families… I do think the maintenance and service could be better seeing the price.
