The park was originally a large garbage dump, but after being designed and planned by the late American-Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi, it was transformed into a giant green circular green space with a transparent triangular pyramid.
The transformation direction of this giant garbage dump is to build a comprehensive park based on the concept of environmental protection, combining natural scenery, sculptures and installation art, sea fountains, amusement facilities, museums, and restaurant designs. The transparent pyramid symbolizing the park monument uses a special processing system to convert the accumulated snow in winter into a cooling system inside the building.
The Play Mountain in the vast park is built with 99 steps of granite and has a gentle slope where you can stroll and enjoy the park scenery; and the other "Tetra Mound" stands on a raised hillock with a triangle composed of three stainless steel cylinders, with distinct geometric lines that sharpen the blue sky and grass;
The largest mountain in the park, "Mt. Moere", is the only mountain in East Sapporo. This artificial mountain made of non-combustible garbage and soil is a great platform for overlooking the city. In winter, you can also ride a sled and experience the thrill of sliding down the snowy slope behind you.
You can take a walk or picnic in the park, or rent a bicycle to explore the park. You can also enjoy various sports venues in the park. Of course, there are restaurants and food stalls.
