Sapporo Snow Festival - is it worth it?

Every year in the beginning of February Sapporo festival is held around Odori park.

Pros:
- every year there are new snow sculptures to see
- international competition of snow sculptures and even snowboard tournaments. ( depending on the year.)
- street food ( sometimes they offer free food like ramen )
- free beer. Yes thats right! ( the line moves quickly too )
- entertainment ( singing events, competition etc)
- chocolate rum and other interesting alcohol mix.

Cons
- weekend is so busy… unless you dont mid the crowd i suggest to visit during the weekdays or go to otaru.
- thousands of people walk on the same snowy floor and some areas can be veryy slippery from all the people stepping on the same ground. They try to put gravel but it still may be slippery for some.
