Odori Park, located in the heart of Sapporo, stretches about 1.5 kilometers from east to west. Each block from West 1 to 12 is adorned with flower beds and grassy areas, complemented by colorful fountains and sculptures, offering delightful scenery throughout the seasons. The park's eastern side is home to the Sapporo TV Tower.
Though named a park, Odori Park is actually a road. Built in 1871 as a firebreak dividing the center of Sapporo into north and south, the road was originally called Satsuporo Street and later renamed Odori. It serves as a leisurely spot for people to relax and is also the venue for representative festivals of Hokkaido. There's the Snow Festival in winter, the Lilac Festival in spring, the YOSAKOI Soran Festival and Beer Garden in summer, and the Autumn Fest featuring a gathering of Hokkaido's culinary delights in fall, each season bringing its own unique charm.
