Sapporo, which has cool air even in midsummer, is the perfect travel destination to escape the heat. The average temperature is around 20 degrees, so it is cool during the day and you need light outerwear in the morning and evening.

The first place I recommend is Odori Park. It is a green space in the middle of the city, and various events such as beer festivals are held in the summer, making it lively. It is also a must-see to climb the nearby Sapporo TV Tower to enjoy the night view.

Furano and Biei are summer highlights in the vicinity! In July, when lavender is in full bloom, the purple waves are spectacular. It is especially popular for couples and families because it is great for taking pictures.

Food is also a must. Thanks to the cool weather, Sapporo ramen, Genghis Khan (lamb BBQ), and Sapporo beer taste even better in the summer.
