If we covered the back gate of Kangwon National University in Part 1, the second part will cover the neighboring neighborhood of Aemakgol and the neighboring neighborhood of Toegye-dong. In fact, both the back gate of Kangwon National University and Aemakgol are adjacent to Kangwon National University. If the back gate of Kangwon National University is literally the back gate of Kangwon National University, then Aemakgol is located at the east gate of Kangwon National University.

In other words, the main gate of Kangwon National University is close to the College of Engineering, College of Humanities, and College of Social Sciences, the back gate is close to the College of Agriculture, College of Business Administration, and College of Natural Sciences, and the east gate is close to the College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Forestry, and Dongsang University.

Since they are all adjacent to universities, there are many single-room apartments, but Aemakgol is a neighborhood where both Chuncheon citizens and college students coexist because there are many apartment complexes.

Aemakgol is becoming a trend among college students these days, but I don't know the exact reason. I heard that it's called Aemakgol rather than Gangdae Back Gate these days, but I don't know the details, and people around me also visit Aemakgol often.

Aemakgol, which I visited in the early morning, was quite deserted because of the three gatherings: 2 AM, a ban on gatherings of 5 people, and a ban on business after 10 PM. Just a few hours ago, this place would have been very crowded with people drinking. Before I served in the military, Aemakgol wasn't this commercially developed, but now there are quite a variety of franchises and stores, giving it a feeling comparable to a back gate.

Oh, and that 'tunnel' that is very artificial, but because of its artificial feel, it's actually good. Since even Chuncheon citizens don't know the name of the tunnel, they just call it the 'back gate tunnel'. That tunnel was a passage connecting the back gate of Kangwon National University and Aemakgol, but it is said that the tunnel did not exist a few decades ago. So cars and people had to go through the university or go around the entrance of Hyoja-dong, which was an inconvenient truth.

First of all, although the tunnel is quite long, there was no smell of exhaust fumes at all. Rather, it worked as an air conditioner that continuously blows wind through the wind path. It was also cooler inside the tunnel.

After taking a quick look around Aemakgol, I passed the Seoksa intersection and headed to Toegye-dong. Toegye-dong is the area with the most apartments in Chuncheon. There are a lot of Toegye Jugong apartments, and there are 8 complexes. Since there are many apartments, the commercial district naturally developed, and it is also the area with the most developed academy district in Chuncheon.

If you divide Toegye-dong into east and west, the east is divided into the academy district, restaurants, and residential areas, and the west is the commercial district centered around Namchuncheon Station. Namchuncheon Station is almost the end of Toegye-dong, and behind Namchuncheon Station, there is a new residential area called Onui-dong.

Late at night, past 2 or 3 in the morning. I was riding a kickboard around Chuncheon without a destination. Rather than struggling with the tropical night, riding a kickboard and driving safely and enjoying the early night of Chuncheon was not a bad experience.

I think I will probably cover the Gongjicheon Trail in the next 3 episodes.
