Nakajima Park, located in the center of Sapporo, Hokkaido, is a civic green space that combines nature, history and culture. It is just a short walk from the Nakajima Park Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Nanboku Line, and there are buses that go directly to New Chitose Airport. The transportation is very convenient.
There are many hotels around the park, including Hotel Nikko City Sapporo, Premier Hotel, Vessel Inn, etc., and there are many convenience stores, izakayas and cafes, which are a great choice for travelers to stay and walk.
Nakajima Park is vast and has rich facilities. The historic building Hoheikan was a noble guesthouse in the Meiji era. It is now registered as an important cultural property. The interior of the building is gorgeous and suitable for taking photos and visiting. The observatory in the park provides astronomical education activities for family tourists. The Japanese garden on the south side of the park is known for its tranquility and meticulousness, and the style varies in each season. Cherry blossoms bloom in spring, greenery is lush in summer, maple leaves are red in autumn, and snow is white in winter, with a peaceful atmosphere.
The most popular is the Shobu-ike Pond, where the blue sky and green trees are reflected on the water surface in spring and summer, and you can enjoy the scenery by boating; in autumn, maple leaves cover the shore, and in winter, they turn into silver-white ice. The entire park is suitable for walking, jogging, boating and picnics, and often hosts art and cultural events and markets.
Whether it is a short stay or a leisurely tour, Nakajima Park is the most charming natural and cultural oasis in the center of Sapporo.
