Club Med Hokkaido Tomamu

A trip to Hokkaido with my 6-year-old grandchild

We arrived in Sapporo around noon and headed to our first-day hotel near Sapporo Station to drop off our luggage. Then, we took the JR train to Es Con Field.
Visited Børnelund, a favorite spot for kids.
■ We had pre-booked a full-day ticket, including admission, through Es Con Field's official website.
■ On the way there, we used the bus from Kitahiroshima Station, but on the way back, we opted for a taxi (make sure to check the bus schedule).

From the second day onward, we stayed at Club Med Hokkaido Tomamu.
■ We had already reserved express train tickets online from Sapporo Station.
■ There’s a shuttle bus available from Tomamu Station.
■ The Kids Club was also pre-booked.
■ Kids Club is included in the accommodation fee for children aged 4 and above.

We used the Kids Club for only half a day and spent the afternoon at the pool of Hoshino Resort, located in front of Club Med.
In the morning, my grandchild tried archery at the Kids Club, and we enjoyed it together again in the afternoon.
Since it’s all-inclusive, meals, snacks, and everything else were covered at Club Med, with no additional charges beyond the accommodation fee.
We also tried the flying trapeze, which was a thrilling experience. For those who prefer not to try the trapeze, there’s a trampoline available for play.
We visited the Unkai Terrace, but unfortunately, it was raining, so we couldn’t see the sea of clouds. However, the view was still beautiful, and waking up early to go up was worth it. Since visitors come from both Hoshino Resort and outside, there was a bit of a wait for the gondola.

Back in Sapporo, we stayed one night at Chateraise Kingdom.
There’s a free shuttle bus from Sapporo Station.
We enjoyed the pool and hot springs at the spa next to the hotel. The pool is suitable for small children as well.
We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but opted for a quick meal at the food court in the spa.

In Sapporo, we strolled around Hokkaido University campus and Nakajima Park.
