To savor the freshest flavors, we woke up early and headed to Sapporo's Nijo Market. The vibrant hawking and the rich smell of the sea instantly sobered us up. We stopped by a small shop recommended by a local and ordered a bowl of "Three-Colored Sea Urchin Donburi." When the bowl arrived, I was stunned! Sea urchins from various origins filled the entire bowl like a small mountain, their colors ranging from light orange to deep yellow, gleaming in the sunlight. I scooped a spoonful into my mouth; it was cool, creamy, and sweet, with a rich ocean aroma that melted in my mouth. There was no fishy smell at all, only a sense of complete bliss. Paired with hot tea and pickles, this breakfast was luxurious and satisfying!
