Sapporo’s Best Day Out: Sky-High Views, Shopping Strolls & Sweet Escapes 🗼🛍️🍫
Soaking up Sapporo in a single sweep—this itinerary mixes classic city sights with hidden treats and ‘insta-perfect’ stops. Whether catching views, scoring souvenirs, or tasting iconic sweets, every moment pops with Hokkaido charm!
Kick off at Sapporo TV Tower (1 Chome Odorinishi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo 060-0042), open 9am–10pm most days. Ride up for panoramic city shots—the sunset over Odori Park is absolutely must-snap. Aim for early morning or late evening for fewer crowds and magical lighting.
Next, stroll Tanukikoji Shopping Street (〒060-0062 Hokkaido, Sapporo, Chuo Ward), an all-day, all-weather arcade lined with local snacks and quirky shops. It’s the spot for souvenir hunting; keep eyes peeled for Hokkaido-themed trinkets and try croquette stalls for a true street food bite!
Slide over to Shiroi Koibito Park (2 Chome-11-36 Miyanosawa 2 Jo, Nishi Ward), open 10am–6pm, for a magical world of famous Hokkaido cookies. Tour the confectionery factory, snap playful shots with European-style facades, and indulge in lavender ice cream—trust me, that’s a local must-try.
If time allows, wander beautiful paths at Hokkaido University (5 Chome Kita 8 Jonishi, Kita Ward), open weekdays 8:30am–5pm. Golden ginkgo trees and tranquil scenes make it a top ‘insta’ stop—especially in late spring or autumn.
Tips:
Book day tours for fuss-free transport. Bring a physical credit card and plenty of cash—some shops still prefer cash. Don’t miss Furano for spectacular flower fields and lavender goodies if you have an extra day.
