Koh Samet is located in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. It is one of the 9 islands in the Plant Genetic Conservation Project initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and is under the care of the Royal Thai Navy. Koh Samet is open as a learning center and ecotourism in accordance with the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It is an island where overnight stays are not allowed. Tourists can only visit Koh Samet on a One Day Tour.

There is no advance booking for tickets to cross Koh Samet. Tourists who wish to cross Koh Samet must travel to book a queue and buy tickets on a day-to-day basis at the Thai Island and Sea Natural History Museum, Khao Ma Cho, Tambon Chong Samet, Amphoe Sattahip, Chonburi Province.
