Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairy-tale icon perched in the Bavarian Alps near Füssen, skips traditional Halloween spooks—it's a Ludwig II dreamscape for pilgrims, not pumpkins. But still you can go and spend your Halloween day.
Book tickets early (€21 adult).
Amp up the eerie: Hike Pöllat Gorge trails under harvest moons, or drive 2hrs to Rothenburg ob der Tauger's Tauber Scarecrow Fest —medieval vibes with witches & lanterns. Closer, Munich's Bavaria Filmstadt hosts family haunts Oct 25: zombies, donuts, film-set chills (10am-3pm). For real frights, trek 3hrs to Königstein's Frankenstein Halloween (Oct 17-Nov 2), Germany's oldest bash.
The magnificent Neuschwanstein castle 🏰 inspired Walt Disney’s, Cinderella Castle.
Prost to fall magic!
