As soon as I arrived in Seattle, I felt the gentle smell of rain and the city’s unique calm atmosphere. It was a city with a strange charm, with the ocean, hills, modern buildings, and old buildings coexisting.
The first stop was Pike Place Market. It was filled with fresh seafood, flowers, and works by local artists. I could also see a salmon-throwing performance in front of the market, as is traditional, and the coffee I had at the first Starbucks felt more special than anywhere else.
After that, I went up to the Space Needle observation deck and took in the entire view of Seattle. The view of the gray sky, the city, and Elliott Bay in the distance was truly Seattle-like.
For lunch, I had fresh oysters and clam chowder near the beach. Eating seafood while looking at the ocean added to the enjoyment of the trip. In the afternoon, I visited Chihuly Garden and Glass to admire the gorgeous glass art pieces, which felt even more emotional when combined with the rainy weather.
Finally, I saw the night view of Seattle at Kerry Park. The city lights centered around the Space Needle and the faint sight of Mount Rainier in the distance were as beautiful as a scene from a movie.
Seattle was a city where rain and coffee, art and nature coexisted. It felt calm and sophisticated, and it remained a travel destination I wanted to visit again.
