As soon as I arrived in Seattle, the calm air and the smell of rain added to the charm of the city. The combination of the beach and hills, modern buildings and old alleyways was unique.
The first stop was Pike Place Market. Fresh seafood, flowers, and various local shops were lively. In particular, the performance of merchants throwing salmon as a tradition was impressive. The coffee I had at the first Starbucks nearby had a different meaning.
After that, I went up to the Space Needle and took in the whole view of Seattle. The scenery of the cloudy sky and the sea showed the true Seattle sensibility. The night view of Elliott Bay and the city from the observation deck was even more attractive.
For lunch, I had fresh oysters and seafood dishes near the market. In the afternoon, I was immersed in the artistic sense while appreciating the gorgeous glass art at Chihuly Garden and Glass.
I headed to Kerry Park around sunset. The view of the Seattle skyline from the hill and Mount Rainier in the distance was like a scene from a movie.
Seattle was a city of emotions where rain, coffee, art, and nature came together. The leisurely and sophisticated atmosphere lingered for a long time, and I wanted to go back.
