Tazawako Station Forest and Ruins Exhibition Room 🚉🌿 Amazing archaeological discoveries at the station!

#AugustDestinations2025
Most people rush to the lakeside or Nyuto Onsen upon arriving at Tazawako Station. However, there's a hidden gem hidden on the second floor of the station: the "Forest and Relics Exhibition Room." Free to enter, it displays earthenware and stone tools from the local Paleolithic and Jomon ruins. Though small, it feels like a corner of a local museum, allowing you to directly experience the rich history of the Lake Tazawa area. ✨

What's most interesting is that Lake Tazawa often evokes the image of a mysterious, natural environment, but here you can see traces of human interaction with the land, and even see explanations about the Tamagawa Dam. If you have some free time between Shinkansen or bus transfers, consider visiting the second floor. A short ten-minute visit will add a depth of history to your trip. 🌟

Address: 68 Otokozaka, Naboku-si, Tazawako, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, inside JR Tazawako Station (2nd floor)
Access: Directly from JR Tazawako Station, 1-minute walk
