Zuihoden is the tomb of Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai domain. It was designated as a national treasure in 1931. It is also a very gorgeous building. It is worth visiting when you come to Sendai.
You can take the Loople Sendai sightseeing loop bus from Sendai Station and get off at Zuihoden-mae. After getting off the bus, you will have to walk up a long slope. There will be signposts along the way. You will need to pay for an entrance ticket to Zuihoden. If you take the Loople Sendai One-Day Pass, you can use the extra money to deduct the entrance fee.
Zuihoden is the burial site of the Kyomine Date family. Surrounding the burial site are the Kansenden, the mausoleum of Date Tadamune, and the Zenoden, the mausoleum of Date Tsunamune, which are both free to visit.
