Mount Bromo is located in the northern part of East Java and stands at an altitude of 2,392 meters above sea level. The highlight of a Bromo trip is undoubtedly conquering the summit and witnessing the sunrise at dawn. There are two sunrise viewing points in Bromo: Bromo Seruni and Penanjakan. For the most spectacular sunrise, Penanjakan is the place to be. It's said to be the most beautiful sunrise in Bromo. We arrived there around 3:00 or 5:00 AM to watch the first rays of the day slowly stream down the mountain range and the white mist that blankets the area. We recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand to avoid wasting your trip.

Next, we headed up to the volcanic crater at the summit. We could reach it by horseback, then climbed up a flight of stairs for about 200 meters to reach the crater's rim. The crater is vast and incredibly beautiful. Many tourists were seen taking photos and admiring the stunning scenery. Let me tell you, you won't find this anywhere else. It's truly a unique experience only found in Bromo.

But most importantly, don't forget to prepare your equipment and get fit before heading up the mountain. The path up is quite steep and requires a lot of walking. The crater area is a sandbar, so be extra careful to avoid slipping and falling. We recommend bringing a mask, as smoke and ash are constantly rising from the summit. Don't inhale it for long periods.
