If you ever find yourself in Jeju, Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, should be at the top of your list. I had the privilege of witnessing one of the most stunning sunrises of my life here. As the first light of day crept over the horizon, it illuminated the vibrant green landscape of this volcanic crater, offering a view that was nothing short of magical. The hike to the summit is manageable, taking around 30 minutes, but the panoramic view from the top is absolutely worth every step.
For a travel tip: aim to arrive early to catch the sunrise—there’s nothing like the serenity of the peak as the sky gradually changes colors. The path can get a bit crowded, especially in the summer, so it’s best to go on weekdays for a quieter experience. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just someone looking to enjoy nature, Seongsan Ilchulbong is an unforgettable experience.
