Jeju Island's Hidden Gem: Seogwipo KAL Hotel

During this trip to beautiful Seogwipo City, I chose Seogwipo KAL Hotel located at the southernmost tip of Jeju Island, offering breathtaking ocean views. The hotel address is 242, Chilsimni-ro, easily accessible via airport shuttle buses! Public transport or taxis to downtown are convenient too, with taxi rides costing about 3,000 KRW (5 minutes). While nearby dining options are limited, delicious finds are just a short walk away!

Though slightly distant from downtown, the hotel boasts stunning sea vistas, immersing guests in azure waters and lush gardens. Opened in 1985, some facilities show age, but rooms remain clean with comfy beds—especially ocean-view balcony rooms showcasing spectacular sunsets 🌅. While outdoor pools are closed and indoor ones under renovation, the orange-scented toiletries deserve praise 👏.

Room-wise, we tried several types. Some show wear (like slightly worn carpets), but all maintain cleanliness. While certain rooms are compact, the 7th-floor ocean-view double with a balcony offers sublime sea breezes and sunset views. Well-stocked bathrooms with thoughtful touches enhance comfort.

Must-visit nearby attractions include Jeongbang Waterfall and Cheonjiyeon Waterfall—both stunning natural wonders. Bubble Aquarium and Oedolgae Rock are perfect family spots. Local gems like Pasta Studio Jeju and Mayb Cafe are great for dining 🍝☕.

Drawbacks? The hotel's vintage charm means dated facilities, and dining options are limited—though service shines. For those prioritizing tranquility and ocean views over modern amenities, its location delivers. Taxis/buses to downtown remain hassle-free.

In summary, Seogwipo KAL Hotel is ideal for serene sea escapes, though budget or transport constraints may warrant consideration 🌟.
