The National Museum of Korea is a proud tourist attraction ranked in the top 10 museums in the world. It is a place with a lot to see, so it is a place I highly recommend to those who visit Seoul.
📍 National Museum of Korea
⏰ Mon~Sun: 10:00~18:00
⏰ Wed, Sat: 20:00
1️⃣ Special exhibition at the National Museum of Korea, ‘Gyeongcheonsa Ten-story Stone Pagoda’
The media façade ‘Sky Light Pagoda’ unfolding on the stone pagoda contains the story of Son Oh-gong’s adventures, the life of Sakyamuni, and nirvana.
You can vividly watch the pagoda’s appearance changing with the four seasons indoors, and you can feel the story of Son Oh-gong going to India to retrieve the scriptures with your own eyes.
The content of the video itself, which is a Korean cultural heritage media façade, is full of Korean beauty, so you will be amazed by the cultural heritage. If you have time, it would be good to visit and see it at least once.
2️⃣ An exhibition where you can see Greek and Roman culture firsthand, ‘Greece to Rome, Rome to Greece’
You can take a step forward into world culture by viewing sculptures, videos, and works of Greek and Roman culture that still influence many people today. If you are curious about the characteristics of Greece and Rome, I recommend visiting the National Museum of Korea during this rainy season.
3️⃣ A space where you can feel 1,400 years of history, ‘The Room of Thought’
In the Room of Thought, you can see two Bangasayusang statues that are designated as national treasures. It is a good place to think about your own suffering while looking at the Bangasayusang statues that are deep in thought contemplating the birth, aging, illness, and death of humans.
