Located in the underground food court of Gyeongdong Market, a traditional market in Seoul, Andong Jip is a popular restaurant that serves Andong's specialty kalguksu, and fills up quickly during peak lunch and dinner times. Andong-style kalguksu, pronounced "Kalguksi" in the local dialect, is characterized by a mild soup made with dried sardines and Chinese cabbage, and medium-thick noodles made from a mixture of soybean flour and wheat flour. It looks and tastes different from regular kalguksu. A side dish is the simple yet popular Chinese cabbage pancake. This retro restaurant is popular not only with diners, but also with drinkers who enjoy the pancakes as a snack.
