When traveling to Korea for the first time, you will definitely want to visit a "Hanok Village" to experience the traditional Korean settlement aesthetics. There are several well-known ones in Seoul, such as Bukchon Hanok Village and Ikseon-dong Hanok Village. Although they are conveniently located in the city, the disadvantage is that there are too many people!
The "Eunpyeong Hanok Village" we visited this time is located in the suburbs more than an hour away from Seoul. Not only are there fewer crowds of people, but there are also no shops everywhere. Instead, there is real local life, which is very similar to the scenes in Korean costume dramas. It is so simple!
Eunpyeong Hanok Village is backed by Bukhansan Mountain, the highest mountain in Seoul. As far as the eye can see, there are Hanok houses and layers of stacked mountains. It is quite natural and beautiful, and it is a scenery that cannot be photographed in Hanok Villages in the city.
There are several specialty coffee shops in the Hanok Village, such as the "1 Person 1 Cup" coffee shop, which combines the design of traditional Hanok with modern minimalist aesthetics and has a very nice atmosphere. There are also stores that offer Korean traditional costumes, where you can try out the traditional costumes of ancient people, which is perfect for taking photos.
