Revisiting Seoul, this time I stayed at the four-star Courtyard Seoul Namdaemun Hotel, part of the Marriott Group.
Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Friendly front desk, efficient service)
Transportation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Primarily bus-based)
Space: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Spacious corner room with a view of Namsan Tower)
Located in the Namdaemun area of Jung-gu, the hotel boasts a convenient location with comprehensive amenities nearby. It’s just a street away from Namdaemun Market. While transportation mainly relies on buses, it’s about an 8-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station, which is reasonably convenient for travelers familiar with city transit.
I stayed in a corner room this time, which is more spacious than standard rooms and offers a view of Namsan Tower. Staying on a higher floor would likely enhance the view further. Although the TV is as large as those in other Courtyard hotels, its placement is slightly angled due to the room layout, requiring you to turn sideways to watch comfortably, which is a minor inconvenience.
The environment is very quiet with good soundproofing. Unless you’re close to the windows, it’s hard to hear any traffic noise from the road.
Marriott members receive welcome snacks and 500 points. This stay also included complimentary breakfast, which was tasty and met expectations.
Overall, Courtyard Seoul Namdaemun Hotel is a conveniently located hotel with efficient service. The spacious corner rooms provide a comfortable experience without feeling cramped, making it a good choice for budget-conscious travelers.
