Hidden on the slopes of Namsan, the Grand Hyatt Seoul is like a classic Korean drama come to life

The Grand Hyatt Seoul is known as the representative of "old money style" hotels. It really is old, having opened in 1978, but it was also Hyatt's first debut in South Korea. As the first luxury hotel in the Namsan area, countless politicians and celebrities have been its distinguished guests, giving the Grand Hyatt Seoul a unique old money story vibe.

The Grand Hyatt Suite is significantly larger than the standard rooms, about 50 square meters. In land-scarce and expensive Seoul, it’s naturally a premium choice. The room doesn’t have a view of the N Seoul Tower but faces the entire Gangnam area, which is especially dazzling with stars at night.

All hotel rooms were renovated in 2019, and it’s been nearly six years since then, giving off a charming, time-worn beauty. Everywhere you look, there are abundant wooden elements, mirrored decorations, and paintings rich in Oriental charm, creating a sophisticated and serene atmosphere.

The large transparent floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms bring the beautiful Gangnam scenery indoors, allowing guests to fully enjoy their city getaway. The natural wood tones intertwined with soft lighting make every corner a healing art space for the body and mind.

The bathroom in the Grand Hyatt Suite is much more interesting than in standard rooms, consisting of a shower room, storage room, and washbasin area. The three-panel mirror radiates a noble aura from the inside out and is the focal point of the entire bathroom. Black showers are indeed rare in luxury hotels; the walls are made into a full mirror, effectively breaking the sense of confinement. After a day of exploring and eating in Seoul, a relaxing bath is truly needed to soothe the whole body.

Don’t miss the uniquely delicious 322 Sowol-Ro Food Gallery, located on the hotel’s first and basement floors: featuring Teppan with authentic Korean flavors, Tenkai serving Japanese yakitori, and Steak House offering premium Korean beef.
