December is the season for year-end gatherings. My elementary school reunion is fixed for the first Saturday of December every year. A total of 8 people will be attending. We made an early reservation at Tavolo 24 at Dongdaemun.
The three most famous buffets in Seoul are already fully booked. I've visited all three before, but they were crowded and chaotic due to their popularity.
The live cooking stations had long waiting times, making it hard to enjoy a leisurely meal. Besides the top three, there are rising stars in Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Banpo, Samseong Station, Yeoksam Station, and Jamsil Station.
And then there's this place near Dongdaemun. I once stayed here and tried their breakfast buffet, which is famous for serving grilled pork belly in the morning.
The breakfast buffet had a great selection of Japanese dishes, which I enjoyed. The pork belly wasn’t thick-cut but rather thin, so it wasn’t particularly memorable.
The festive season buffet features an extravagant menu. It's truly a feast with dishes that could make the table legs buckle. King crab, lobster, roast turkey, tomahawk steak, and lamb chops all vie for the spotlight.
Additionally, there are abalone porridge, grilled eel, creamy shrimp, red snapper sashimi, Dokdo shrimp, cream pasta, marinated crab, crab stew, LA galbi, braised beef ribs, mentaiko, and more—a true culinary extravaganza.
For two hours, everyone is too busy eating to talk. After finishing desserts and fruits, everyone feels like their stomachs might burst before heading to the next venue. Thank you.
