While Changdeokgung Palace's main court is beautiful, the Secret Garden is the true highlight and the unique feature that makes this palace complex special. If you are pressed for time and can only choose one palace garden in Seoul, this is the one to prioritize. The beauty and historical authenticity of Huwon, which makes up about two-thirds of the entire palace grounds, far surpasses the more expansive but heavily reconstructed main sections of other palaces. Just remember that the garden tour is ticketed separately and must be booked in advance!
