The hot air balloon tethering was canceled due to heavy rain, so it looks like this year's carnival is a bit of a loss! 😭
The Taitung Sugar Factory is surprisingly fun. Besides local souvenirs, the indigo dyeing experience, the bookstore cafe, and the glass bead making experience are all worth spending a whole day at.
The glass bead making experience was my favorite because it involves working with fire. The instructor not only demonstrated once but also provided hands-on instruction. You can choose the color of the finished product to create a unique piece, which you can then string into a necklace, bracelet, or charm.
A trip to the east every year is worth it. Without the hustle and bustle of the city, you'll feel time slow down and have a deep conversation with yourself. 😁
💰Average Cost: Glass bead making costs $390. You can choose two beads in a matching color, and an additional bead costs $15. The bookstore minimum purchase is one book. 😁
