Beautiful Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail with Autumn Foliage and Silver Grass

Enjoy the beautiful season of autumn foliage in Seoul! A healthy and healing autumn trip to Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail sections 7 and 8, where you can admire the autumn leaves and silver grass. 💜

🍁 Bukhansan Dulle-gil Section 7, Old Fortress Path

✔️ Location: San 1-1, Hong-eun-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul
✔️ Name: Old Fortress Path
✔️ Distance: 2.7km
✔️ Duration: 1 hour 40 minutes
✔️ Difficulty: Moderate (many stairs)
✔️ Course: From Tangchundaeseong Ammun to Bukhansan Ecological Park and Rose Park.

✨️ Tips for Finding the Entrance to Old Fortress Path

When I first visited Section 7 of Bukhansan Dulle-gil, I struggled to find the entrance. Follow these tips to make it easier:

1. Do not pass through Gugi Tunnel when looking for the arched entrance.
2. Pay close attention to the Dulle-gil signs on the ground and walls.
3. After passing Jangmonim Haejangguk, turn left at the fork.

✨️ Beautiful Moments You Don’t Want to Miss

Section 7 offers a pleasant walking path. It’s easy to navigate, with a moderate length and diverse, scenic routes. There are many picturesque spots along the way.

The round stone stairway is a photo spot, and the view from the rocks is breathtaking. It’s also fun to spot peaks like Hyangrobong and Bibong from these rocks!

🍁 Food and Scenery at Bukhansan (Ft. Yechan Gimbap)

Before hiking, I grabbed snacks at a convenience store and bought gimbap from Yechan Gimbap next door to enjoy lunch on the mountain. Surprisingly, Yechan Gimbap opens as early as 6 AM!

Towards the end of Section 7, there’s a pavilion rest area. That was today’s dining spot! Yechan Gimbap has a unique flavor, with something like braised meat instead of burdock, making it an unusual yet delightful experience.

Though it was a simple meal, sitting in an old wooden pavilion, enjoying the stunning view of Bukhansan while eating gimbap, is a memory I’ll never forget. 😮

🍁 Bukhansan Dulle-gil Section 8, Cloud Garden Path

✔️ Location: San 6-4, Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul
✔️ Name: Cloud Garden Path
✔️ Distance: 5.2km
✔️ Duration: 3 hours 10 minutes (took longer because I got lost)
✔️ Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult (long distance)
✔️ Course: From Bukhansan Ecological Park to Jin-gwan Ecological Bridge.

✨️ Finding the Entrance to Cloud Garden Path

Take a bus and get off at Dokbakgol or in front of Bukhansan Raemian Apartments for a quicker route. If you start from Bulgwang Station Exit 2 like I did, it’s about a 13-minute walk to Bukhansan Ecological Park.

Look out for Dulle-gil signs on utility poles and other spots to avoid getting lost like I did.

✨️ The Reason to Visit: Skywalk

The uphill deck stairs at the beginning are a bit challenging, but the good news is you’ll reach the observatory and the highlight of Cloud Garden Path, the Skywalk, relatively quickly!

If you’re short on time, you can just visit the Skywalk and head back. But if you complete Section 8, you’ll find a fairy-tale-like world filled with silver grass, so hang in there!

The Skywalk, which feels like a path to the sky, is stunning from both the front and back. Visiting on a weekday morning ensures fewer people and a serene atmosphere, perfect for clearing your mind.

✨️ Refreshing Iced Americano

After the Skywalk, you’ll walk through some steep uphill and downhill paths for about an hour. When the autumn sun makes you thirsty, stop by Cloud Garden Coffeezip in Suri Park to cool off. Their coffee, made with non-acidic beans, is a crowd-pleaser!

✨️ Small Silver Grass Field

I almost missed the autumn silver grass this year, but I found it like a gift on Section 8 of Bukhansan Dulle-gil. This small silver grass field, encapsulating the essence of autumn, is a fantastic photo spot for profile pictures. This stunning autumn scenery is only available during this season, so make sure to visit in the fall. 💜

The charming Cloud Garden Path, where you can enjoy autumn foliage and silver grass, offers a variety of paths, including stairs, long deck trails, natural dirt paths, and occasional stone paths, making the journey enjoyable throughout.

🍁 Tomb of Prince Hwaeui, Yi Yeong

At the end of Section 8, outside Bukhansan, lies the tomb of Prince Hwaeui, Yi Yeong, the sixth son of King Sejong, who was exiled and executed due to his involvement in the Danjong succession incident.

The red gate, the neatly maintained small garden with flowing water sounds, and the well-organized green backdrop create a harmonious setting. Walking Bukhansan Dulle-gil, enjoying a beautiful autumn trip, and learning about history made for the best day in Seoul. 💜
