A Living Embodiment of Korea’s Heritage – My Visit to National Museum of Korea

Here’s a spotlight on Seoul’s National Museum of Korea — a culture lover’s dream 🚀
I headed to 137 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan District and started the day early. Morning and evening are peak times, so if you want a quieter experience, try late morning or early afternoon! Outside, you’ll get an epic landscape view of N-Seoul Tower (IG-worthy for sure 🌆). Inside, there’s a killer celadon display (don’t skip it, the craftsmanship is insane).
Pro tip: Hop on their free guided tours at 10am or 1pm (both English & Korean available). These give major insight, even if you’re a casual museumgoer. If you’re visiting during the 20th anniversary, join the rally — collect national treasure stamps throughout the museum and snag a cool reward at the end.
Plan for breaks — the museum has a chill cafe, a convenience store for quick snacks, and even a luxury restaurant if you want to splurge. Getting here is simple: take the subway or bus, and it’s a 5-minute walk from the stop. The exhibition layouts make browsing easy, and with plenty of seating areas, it’s comfy even on busy days.
Transport hack: Subway Line 4 to Ichon Station, Exit 2, or bus #400/502 (not sure, need check again) stops nearby.
Food tip: Grab lunch at the museum’s restaurant if you want nice ambience, but there are street eats around Yongsan too.
Admission is free! Double-check the opening hours, as Wednesdays and Saturdays are longer (open until 9pm), and it’s closed certain Mondays.
