Introducing Li Xi Court

Completed in 1929, Lixi Pavilion, originally located at No. 7 Caizhenfang, served as the Suzhou residence of Yao Yecheng and Chiang Wei-kuo. After the Liberation Movement, the site was taken over by the government. In 1952, it became the Suzhou Municipal People's Committee's guesthouse for foreign guests. For decades thereafter, it primarily served as a venue for foreign affairs receptions, and numerous domestic dignitaries also stayed there. In 2005, Lixi Pavilion underwent a protective restoration and reinforcement program.
