The Negeri Sembilan State Museum (Muzium Negeri Sembilan) is located in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. It takes about an hour to drive from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban. The museum is near the Seremban exit of the North-South Expressway.
“Negeri Sembilan” means “Nine States” in Chinese and Seremban is the capital of Negeri Sembilan.
The Negeri Sembilan State Museum is a Minangkabau style and building. The cultural characteristic of Minangkabau buildings is that their roofs are designed in the shape of ox horns. Entrance to the museum is free. There is a fee to visit the museum, which has exhibitions about the history and culture of Negeri Sembilan and Minangkabau. Minangkabau is a traditional matriarchal ethnic group, where fields and houses are inherited by daughters. All explanations are in Malay and English. If you don't want to go inside and just take photos around outside, visiting the Old Palace and the stilt houses is free.
Next to the museum is the Seremban Gateway shopping mall, which has various restaurants and is very convenient for dining.
