317 Sichuan-Tibet Journey Day 3: Serthar - A Devout Pure Land

Even when the Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy is inaccessible and sky burials cannot be witnessed, Serthar still overwhelms us with its majesty. Pausing sincerely at the Mandala City, the awe of faith and life strikes directly at the soul! To experience this belief, distant observation suffices—why disturb this sacred purity? It must be said that Serthar's cultural tourism is exceptionally well-managed, allowing faith to remain faith! PS: The viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the Buddhist academy.

Cattle and horses ultimately yearn for grasslands, just as eagles are devoted to the vast skies.

Due to road closures on part of Highway 317, we took a rural path (a bumpy gravel mountain road), but the grasslands along the way were breathtakingly beautiful.

The Nai Long Sacred Mountain viewpoint (P12) is perfect for sipping tea and enjoying the breeze. The Kawakarpo Snow Mountain viewpoint (P14) is ideal for daydreaming and horseback riding—just 25-30 RMB for a ride.

The scenery along the journey is endless, and photos can hardly do it justice!

Day 3 Route: Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy (3,800m) — Ganzi County Town (3,191m), a relaxed four-hour journey.
