Who says women in Seville never cry? 💃
In just one day, I cried three times—
First, at the sunset’s orange glow over Plaza de España 🌅
Second, moved to tears by the perfect route I designed 💯
Third, while eating bone marrow rice at a trendy restaurant that was saltier than my tears…
(I thought everything in Spain would taste amazing even with my eyes closed, but I failed in Seville)
-
🏨 Hilton Garden Inn Sevilla
The hotel is a bit out of the way, but the bus goes directly to the old town
A taxi tops out at 20 euros, very convenient
Seville’s attractions are quite concentrated
Here’s the order:
📍 Parque de María Luisa
📍 Plaza de España
📍 Royal Alcázar of Seville (Game of Thrones filming location)
📍 Torre del Oro, by the Guadalquivir River
📍 Seville Cathedral (Gothic church)
📍 Setas de Sevilla (Mushroom House)
💃 We watched a Flamenco show
-
💣 Warning: Morente Restaurant
The bone marrow rice was so greasy it made me question life
The menu’s drinks were wrong, and the bread was “hala” (Northeastern slang for stale)
We disliked the meal so much we didn’t even want to say a word about it
Bored, we started debating whether Picasso’s last name was Picasso or Pablo
(Life experience +1)
-
🍄 Next to the Mushroom House, there’s a small tavern that’s really great
Baturrones-Cerveceria Marinera
We followed a few elderly couples inside
To our surprise, it suited our taste perfectly
Mainly because the drinks were good, and we tried a special Spanish or Seville white wine called Elias
The flavor was quite unique, but unfortunately, I wasn’t the target audience and didn’t finish it
-
My secret to finding authentic flavors in Spain:
Avoid algorithms or sponsored spots
Listen to the real hustle and bustle in the streets and alleys
Those small shops full of locals
That’s where the true spirit and flavor of Andalusia lie
