Cape Kamui on the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido. It's a famous place.
The rocks, likely eroded by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan, create sheer cliffs. ✨ We were blessed with good weather, so we were able to see the beautiful Shakotan blue sea!
The rugged rocks and the green ridges stretching into the distance combined with the blue sky and sea to create a very beautiful sight.
Access: 3.5 hours by car from New Chitose Airport. 2.5 hours by bus from Otaru Station (get off at Cape Kamui / operates only in summer) 30 minutes by bus from Shakotan Cape. Public transportation is very infrequent, so we recommend accessing by car.
