Experiencing the freedom like the wind on the Qilian Mountain Grassland

⭐As my travel experiences grow richer, I've come to appreciate more that the core charm of a journey lies in the unknown stories waiting to unfold at any place. It's precisely this randomness that allows you to truly feel the joy of breaking free from the mundane routine. Those unexpected little delights often become the most cherished memories, just as sometimes a rainbow after rain can bring more happiness than constant sunshine. And I encountered one such moment on the Qilian Mountain Grassland in Qinghai.
⭐The Qilian Mountain Grassland is actually a lesser-known spot along the Northwest China loop. I only stopped here because it was conveniently on the way from Zhangye to Menyuan, never expecting to be rewarded with both delicious food and breathtaking scenery. First, I randomly chose a family-run restaurant hidden deep in a small alley, serving simple yet heartwarming local home-style dishes that brought immense happiness. Chatting casually with the owner over tea was also quite enjoyable. Then, after a light rain along the way, the weather suddenly cleared as we crossed a mountain, revealing super huge cartoon-like clouds (see photo 1 - definitely not photoshopped!) that looked like angel wings. I absolutely loved it (♡∀♡).
📌Ren Family Courtyard
🐟The restaurant is right at the Biandukou highway exit. Their large steamed dumplings and homemade yogurt are particularly impressive.
💧They also offer accommodation, which is exceptionally clean.
📌Biandukou Scenic Area
📷From mid-July to early August, you can see vast fields of rapeseed flowers here, making it worth a short stop.
📌Qihua Jinxiu Ebao Ancient City
📷Be sure to climb the wooden walkway to the viewing platform for a panoramic view of the entire Qilian Mountain Grassland.
📷Photographing the green hills from below is also beautiful - most photos in this post were taken here.
🐴There are many spots nearby for horseback riding, plus a food street and other entertainment options.
