Introducing Zifang Lake

Zifang Lake, located in Yuntaishan Scenic Area, is the largest lake in the scenic area and is adjacent to Hongshixia Scenic Area. It was named after Zhang Liang (Zifang) of the Han Dynasty who once trained his troops day and night on the mountain peak on the west side of the valley and retired here after helping Liu Bang achieve his great cause.

The lake covers 800 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) and is approximately 4 kilometers long. Green mountains stand on either side, flanked by a strip of emerald water. This picturesque scene captivates visitors. The lush green mountains and dark green water, nestled against each other, create a magnificent and surging scene.

In the mornings and afternoons, the lake's surface is half cloudy and half clear, shimmering golden on one side and emerald green on the other. At noon, it reflects the direct sunlight like a giant mirror, creating a dazzling spectacle. At the north end of the lake, a peak resembles a giant Buddha. The statue features a lifelike face, drooping ears, clasped hands, and cross-legged legs. Beneath it rests a lotus-shaped hill. On clear days , white clouds drift across the sky, and mist drifts between the mountains and water, creating a mysterious and enchanting scene.

Every morning and evening, the Buddha is illuminated by the rosy glow of the sunset, with its entire body shining brightly, its outline clear and its image lifelike, making it a truly remarkable sight in Yuntaishan.
