Sanjiao Cave Grotto Temple.

The Sanjiao Cave Grotto Temple is located on the southern slope of Gai Mountain, 615 meters above sea level, in the southern part of Shuangchunpu Town, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is named after the temple built in the cave and the statues of the heads of the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. It is 11 kilometers away from the county seat and is adjacent to the Nanxin Ye Highway.
Sanjiao Cave is divided into front, middle, and back halls. The temple is built in two layers along the cave, with a total of 30 large and small rooms. The temple is carved with statues of Confucius, Laozi, and Sakyamuni, with the Eight Immortals standing on both sides; upstairs are the Jade Emperor and Guanyin, Samantabhadra, and Manjusri Bodhisattva, with extremely imaginative and creative shapes. According to the temple stele records and the oral accounts of local elders, the temple was expanded during the reign of Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty and the Jiajing period.
In March 2004, the Xinyang Municipal People's Government announced the Sanjiao Cave Grotto Temple as a cultural relic protection unit in Xinyang City.
