In order to display the origin, growth, brilliance, reform and outlook of Shanghai's textiles, the Oriental International Group (formerly Shanghai Textile Group) has specially selected the site on the south bank of the Suzhou River, with a hundred years of history, the original Shanghai Shenxin Textile No. 9 Factory (the original Shanghai Machine Weaving Bureau) old site, fully invested in the establishment of the Shanghai Textile Museum.
Here, the famous 'Shen Nine Two Two' strike in the history of Shanghai workers' movement took place, and it also witnessed the 'first hammer of ingot pressure' in the adjustment and reform of Shanghai's textiles. Now, with nearly 7,000 square meters of exhibition area, through physical objects, materials, scenes, pictures and texts, models and multimedia and other means, it sorts out the historical context of Shanghai's textiles, interprets the industrial culture of Shanghai's textiles for more than 6,000 years, and lets the public see a dynamic, rich, and brand new Shanghai textiles.
