Grand Gateway 66, what's the situation

I remember when it first opened, it was simply called Grand Gateway, not as upscale as it is now, with many shops like Coach and other affordable luxury brands.

More than a decade ago, it was renamed Grand Gateway 66. Whether it was due to the successive incidents of people jumping off the building, or for some other reason, it started renovations in 2017, and after two years, it reopened. The overall design still retains the original incense burner-like appearance, but it has become something I can't afford. However, Xujiahui doesn't lack wealthy people, and after so many years, when I visit again on a Saturday, it is still a bustling place.

It has been proven that this renovation has finally helped it find its niche: there are many malls in the Xujiahui shopping district, but not many high-end luxury malls. The previous affordable luxury route lacked uniqueness. Metro City focuses on dining, while Huijin Department Store and Oriental Department Store maintain the affordable luxury route. If you don't find your niche, you either face closure or a deserted entrance.
