I would like to introduce Yunhaixiao (云海肴), a Yunnan cuisine restaurant that I visited during my trip to Shanghai, China in September.

After the lotus season in July and August, delicious lotus roots are harvested starting in September. I visited Yunhaixiao because I heard that you can taste Yunnan-style lotus root dishes.

Yunhaixiao (云海肴) is a chain restaurant that can be found all over China. We visited the one in a shopping mall in Shanghai, China. We ordered various dishes, but the dish that suited my taste the most was a dish where Yunnan Pu'er tea leaves were stir-fried with fried tofu. The fragrant Pu'er tea scent came up and it was really fresh. The lotus roots stir-fried in Chinese seasoning were also a seasonal food, so they were very delicious.
